Outreach Committee

OUTREACH COMMITTEE

The outreach committee was formed to increase education and public awareness of the science that Weill Cornell postdocs are engaged in.

One of our main initiatives is our quarterly postdoc “pub talks”, which are events designed to engage both fellow researchers and science enthusiasts from around New York City. Our presenters discuss what they are doing in the lab and clinic to advance the scientific frontier in biomedical research, while breaking it down for a general audience.

Note from former Committee Chair Heidi:

"What I enjoy about chairing the outreach committee is that it allows me to talk to, and “nerd out” with people I might not normally interact with. The pub talk series provides a great chance to hear about the different research topics other postdocs are diving into as well as how they apply that information to advance solutions for real world biomedical issues. In addition the questions that science-curious community members ask are often incredibly insightful. This is great because it gives my fellow postdocs and me a broader perspective from which to conduct our research."

Whether you have an outreach event you’d like help with or are just looking to volunteer, we’d love to hear from you!
