Minimum Stipend Policy

Upon initial appointment, all Postdoctoral Associates should be offered a salary of at least the current NIH NRSA stipend scale based on their year of experience as a postdoc. The NIH NRSA stipend scale listed below represents the minimum salary. There is no set maximum allowable compensation, so Postdoctoral Associates may be offered salaries in excess of the minimum.

Effective January 2019, the NIH NRSA Postdoctoral Stipend levels are as follows:

Upon reappointment, all Postdoctoral Associates should be offered a salary of at least the current NIH NRSA stipend scale based on their year of experience as a postdoc. There is no set maximum allowable compensation, so Postdoctoral Associates may be offered salaries in excess of the minimum. Any exceptions to these guidelines must be requested by the Principal Investigator in writing and submitted to the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs.
