Postdoctoral Position in the Kaner Lab

 Dr. Robert Kaner's laboratory in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to support translational research using a well-established biobank of over 400 blood samples from patients with interstitial lung disease (ILD) and other lung conditions. The research focuses on identifying mechanisms of disease progression, discovering novel biomarkers, and exploring inflammatory pathways relevant to chronic lung diseases. Projects will involve a combination of laboratory assays and advanced multi-omics approaches (transcriptomic, proteomic, metabolomic, metagenomic, lipidomic), integrated with clinical, imaging, and physiologic data.

Duration: This position is supported by dedicated ILD research funding and is a 1-year renewable term appointment . The postdoctoral associate’s salary and full benefits will be 100% covered for the duration of the appointment.

Job Requirements

  • PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent in biomedical sciences, bioinformatics, or a related field.
  • Experience with basic laboratory assays (e.g., ELISA, RNA/protein techniques).
  • Familiarity with ‘omics data generation and analysis.
  • Understanding of translational research on pathophysiology and biomarker discovery

Salary Range: Salary for this position ranges from $61,008 - $93,000. Weill Cornell Medicine provides the above salary range in compliance with the New York City law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range listed is for full‐time employment not including benefits, bonuses, or clinical incentive compensation where applicable.
