The group of Effie Apostolou at the Weill Cornell Medicine in New York, United States, is seeking highly motivated and talented postdoctoral researchers. We study the molecular mechanisms that determine cell fate decisions in the context of iPSC reprogramming, early development and tumorigenesis. Specifically, we ask how the interplay between transcription factors and 3D chromatin organization controls cell state-specific transcriptional programs. We use high-throughput sequencing techniques such as HiChIP, HiC, ChIP-seq, PRO-seq and single-cell RNA-seq, as well as high-resolution microscopy and CRISPR-based genetic and epigenetic engineering assays.
