The Center Wide ID, (or “CWID”, pronounced “seaweed”), is a unique identifier consisting of a seven character username assigned to all faculty, staff, and students. This ID is used to log into most major WCM and NewYork-Presbyterian computing systems. It also constitutes the first section of the WCM email address (CWID@med.cornell.edu). CWIDs usually consist of three initials of the user's name (first-middle-last, or for those with no middle name, two letters from the first name and one from the last) and a four digit numeric identifier.
The administrative manager of your department will begin the e-mail account creation process. Either prior to, or on your Orientation date, you will be issued a temporary password which can be reset. Web mail online can be accessed through Microsoft Office 365.
Software:
ITS provides electronic distribution of all WCMC-supported applications. Download software for your work computer.
The WCM Samuel J. Wood Library provides a Scientific Software Hub where you can find software that is supported by the library.
ITS also provides the WCM community with all the necessary tools to fulfill personal software purchasing needs. The OnTheHub store allows faculty, staff, and students to purchase personal licenses of popular software to use on your home devices.

In order to receive official notifications, your DA should submit your initial contact info via Weill Cornell Online Directory
Cornell Emergency is the place for emergency announcements, contact numbers, procedures, and planning.
