As a Postdoctoral Fellow, you will be working on a project related to understanding tumor microenvironmental changes underlying transformation and response to novel immunotherapies in Richter Transformation (RT). The lab is focused on dissecting the molecular etiology and therapeutic vulnerabilities of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and RT through the generation of innovative in vivo (e.g. CRISPR-based mouse models, patient derived xenografts) and in vitro (e.g. organoids) disease models. We leverage these unique mouse models to dissect the mechanism of action and the determinants of response/resistance to novel immunotherapies. You will work within a multidisciplinary and collaborative team of translational scientists, computational biologists and clinicians at the Weill Cornell Medical College, in the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology and the Meyer Cancer Center.
You will be responsible for the following:
- Conduct the research independently and/or collaboratively with colleagues to ensure all experiments are appropriately conducted following Lab, Department, and College policies and procedures.
- Designing, organizing, and carrying out experiments using established protocols, and sometimes adapting to and designing new protocols.
- Collect, prepare, and analyze research data. This may include keeping a detailed notebook summarizing experiments and recording research data and/or maintaining a computer database of the research data.
- Tabulate data for presentations and use graphics and statistical software to analyze and present data.
- Participate in abstract and article preparation with the Principal Investigator, publish results in research journals, and present findings at conferences.
- Assist the Principal Investigator in applying for fellowship, grant, and scholarship support, as requested.
- Assume general responsibility for scientific operations of the laboratory, including training and supervising interns, students, and other laboratory personnel, as necessary
Minimum Qualifications:
- PhD degree in immunology, cancer biology/pharmacology, or related fields;
- Mastery of written and spoken English
- Names and contact information of at least 2 recent references;
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in mouse modeling, cellular and molecular biology, flow cytometry will be favorably considered;
- Ability to think and work independently, in a collaborative environment;
- Strong interpersonal skills and a track record of collaborative work in multidisciplinary research environments
Application Process:
Interested applicants should send the following materials by email to Dr. Elisa ten Hacken [email: elt4010@med.cornell.edu]
- CV (including list of publications and technical/computational skills);
- Names and contact information of at least 2 references;
