Postdoctoral associate position to study the stroma-epithelium interaction and immunological pathways in cancer. One fully funded postdoctoral position is available in the laboratories of Jorge Moscat and Maria Diaz-Meco to study fundamental aspects of cell lineage plasticity and crosstalk between the stroma and cancer cells in the tumor microenvironment, with special attention to colorectal cancer. The project is based on our recent publications on this topic: Ma et al., 2013 Cell; Duran et al., 2016 Cancer Cell; Moscat et al., 2016 Cell; Nakanishi et al., 2018 Immunity; Reina-Campos et al., 2019 Cancer Cell; Kudo et al., 2020 Cancer Cell; Kasashima et al., 2021 Developmental Cell; Linares et al., 2021 Molecular Cell; Martinez-Ordoñez et al., 2023 Cancer Cell; Kinoshita et el., 2024 Developmental Cell; Nishimura et al., 2024 Molecular Cell. As a Postdoctoral Associate, you will be working on a project related to colorectal cancer. You will be responsible for the following:
- Conduct the research independently and/or collaboratively with colleagues to ensure all experiments are appropriately conducted following Lab, Department, and College policies and procedures.
- Designing, organizing, and carrying out experiments using established protocols, and sometimes adapting to and designing new protocols.
- Collect, prepare, and analyze research data. This may include keeping a detailed notebook summarizing experiments and recording research data and/or maintaining a computer database of the research data.
- Tabulate data for presentations and use graphics and statistical software to analyze and present data.
- Participate in abstract and article preparation with the Principal Investigator, publish results in research journals, and present findings at conferences.
- Assist the Principal Investigator in applying for fellowship, grant, and scholarship support, as requested.
- Assume general responsibility for scientific operations of the laboratory, including training and supervising interns, students, and other laboratory personnel, as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals who are interested in this very competitive topic. The candidates should have lab experience in molecular and cellular biology techniques and with expertise in mouse models. Candidates must have a Ph.D. or M.D. degree.

Salary:
Minimum salary range within the CBA collective bargaining agreement based on years of experience: $74,692 to $82,192.
