As a Postdoctoral Associate in the Hajirasouliha Lab, in the Department of Systems and Computational Biomedicine and the Englander Institute for Precision Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine, you will be working on a project developing the next generation of AI models for reproductive medicine, including large-scale foundation models, multimodal learning, and clinically deployable tools that can improve outcomes for patients. Our research has already produced patented technologies, and you will have the opportunity to help translate new models into deployable products, with exposure to intellectual property and entrepreneurship along the way. You will be responsible for the following:
- Conduct the research independently and/or collaboratively with clinical and computational colleagues to ensure all work is appropriately conducted following Lab, Department, and College policies and procedures.
- Design, develop, train, and evaluate large-scale foundation models and multimodal deep-learning methods for reproductive medicine, adapting existing approaches and designing new ones as needed.
- Build product- and clinical-grade systems: robust, well-engineered, validated models and software that move beyond prototypes into real clinical and product settings.
- Collect, prepare, and analyze research data, including maintaining well-documented codebases, experiment records, and databases of the research data.
- Participate in abstract and article preparation with the Principal Investigator, publish results in top research venues, and present findings at conferences.
- Assist the Principal Investigator in applying for fellowship, grant, and scholarship support, and contribute to intellectual property and translational efforts, as requested.
- Assume general responsibility for scientific operations of the laboratory, including training and supervising interns, students, and other laboratory personnel, as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:
A Ph.D. (completed or expected shortly) in machine learning, computer science, computational biology, biomedical engineering, or a related field, with strong deep-learning and generative-AI skills. Exceptional candidates without a Ph.D. but with equivalent research and/or industry experience will be considered for a comparable Staff or Research Associate position. Letters of recommendation will be requested during the review process.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong software engineering skills and experience with model deployment/MLOps, medical imaging, foundation models, or clinical/regulatory translation (e.g., software as a medical device). A demonstrated ability to build robust, validated, product- and clinical-grade systems that move beyond prototypes. A passion for translational, patient-facing impact is essential.

Appointment Term:

Salary:
The starting salary for the Postdoctoral Associate position is $75,812 - Salary will be commensurate in full compliance with the Weill Cornell Medicine Postdoctoral Union collective bargaining agreement.
