Postdoctoral Position in Stress and Obesity Research Using Mouse Models

The Teruel Lab investigates the molecular mechanisms how stress and disruption of circadian rhythms are causing obesity. We use genetic mouse models, metabolic profiling, and multiplexed histochemistry and microscopy analysis of isolated tissue. Your project would build on work published in Bahrami-Nejad et al.(2018) Cell Metabolism, PMID:29617644 and Tholen et al (2022) Cell Reports, PMID:35767959. For more info, see writeups in: NIH Research Matters, Stanford Medicine News, Weill Cornell News. Our NIH-funded lab is located in newly renovated space within a vibrant research hub on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York City with access to the most cutting-edge technologies and many opportunities for collaboration with world-class researchers at Weill Cornell Medicine and neighboring Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Rockefeller University, and the Hospital of Special Surgery.
