Postdoctoral Position, Longman lab, Jill Roberts Institute for Research in IBD

The Longman lab (www.longmanlab.org) at the Jill Roberts Institute for IBD Research and Department of Immunology and Microbial Pathogenesis, Weill Cornell Medicine, is recruiting a Post-doctoral Scientist to conduct research studying the microbiome and intestinal immunology.

We are a diverse and dynamic group of scientists doing basic and translational research in inflammatory bowel disease ranging from host-pathogen interactions, microbiome and microbial metabolism, tumor immunology, and dendritic cell biology.

The successful candidate will develop and utilize genetic mouse models and human samples to define the role for microbial products in cellular responses promoting mucosal healing and tumor immunity.

Applicants should have keen interest in immunology, inflammatory bowel disease, and the microbiome.

It is preferred that the candidate will have strong experience in immunology and practical knowledge of fundamental immunology and molecular biological techniques including flow cytometry, cell culture, mouse models of colitis, plasmid design, and genetic manipulation of cells. The candidate is also be expected to have (i) strong written and verbal communication skills, (ii) an ability to establish clear goals and to organize and prioritize work and (iii) an ability and willingness to work with a diverse team of clinicians and scientists, including postdocs, students and technicians.

Salary for this position ranges from $58,500 - $66,538. Weill Cornell Medicine provides the above salary range in compliance with the New York City law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements.
